A perm, short for “permanent wave,” is a chemical treatment that adds texture, curls, or waves to the hair. It involves applying a chemical solution to break and reform the hair bonds, followed by a neutralizer to set the new shape. The resulting perm can last 3 to 6 months on average.

Prior to getting a perm, it’s important to ensure your hair is in a healthy condition. Avoid any other chemical treatments or coloring in the weeks leading up to your perm appointment. Perming chemically treated or colored hair can be more challenging and may increase the risk of damage but it is still possible. Our stylists will provide a thorough consultation to assess the compatibility of your hair with a perm.

We recommend avoiding washing your hair for at least 48 hours after getting a perm. This allows the perm solution to fully set and helps the curls or waves form properly.
